Air Dryers and Filters

We are a distributor of BelAir Technologies’ superior line of refrigerated and desiccant air dryers. From our standpoint, BelAir offers the finest dryers available for several reasons. Their dryers feature the lowest pressure drop across their product line in the industry. BelAir’s innovative “Hot Gas By-Pass Valve” requires no readjustment for lower ambient or higher elevation temperatures. The controllers allow for adjustable high dew point alarms. All models are equipped with fan switches which eliminate freeze ups at low flow and at low ambient temperatures. Belair uses timed solenoid drains (not float drains) with cleanable strainers and isolation valves on all of its dryers. The dryer design lends itself to easy maintenance.

BelAir’s FT Series of inline filters features one of the lowest dry and wet pressure drops in the industry. The filters are oversized allowing for longer life and less frequent change out intervals of the replacement filter elements. BelAir uses a needle felt outer wrap instead of the traditional articulated foam on the outside of its filter elements. This allows the element to withstand temperatures of up 210 Deg. F without disintegration. Their filter elements are impervious to any and all lubricants.

Refrigerated Air Dryers

ACT (Aluminum Cooling Module) Series, 20-5000 SCFM

Built in conjunction with strict design parameters, ACT refrigerated air dryers feature an aluminum cooling technology heat exchanger module. The ACT Heat Exchanger produces the lowest pressure drop ratings in the compressed air industry, resulting in energy dollar savings. Application of the “Constant Pressure By-Pass Valve” delivers a steady Dew Point over all load variations. The cabinetry is state of the art in design, providing a compact footprint with easy to remove panels. All units include an integrated timed condensate drain.

The unique design of the aluminum cooling technology heat exchanger combines the air-to-air, air-to-refrigerant and the demister condensate separator. Maximum heat transfer is achieved in the air-to-air heat exchangers cross-flow design. The large surface areas coupled with the cross-flow of the refrigerant gases in the air-to-refrigerant exchanger ensure no liquid is returned to the refrigeration compressor. The maintenance free separator is located in the heat exchanger module. The highly efficient coalescing separator provides superior moisture separation. The large cross-section flow channel results in low velocities, producing low-pressure drop and reduced energy costs.

DMC14 Digital Controller

Dryer operation and monitoring is controlled via an electronic controller. The DMC14 controller comes standard on all ACT dryers. The digital display shows the operation Dew Point Temperature in °F and provides operational controls for the condensate drain along with a High Dew Point programmable remote alarm signal function.

Inlet Air Treatment

Due to the geometric configuration of the heat exchanger, a BelAir FT Series pre-filter of at least 1.0 micron is required. This will prevent fouling from rust, scale or other solid particulates pollutants, resulting in prolonged life of the ACT heat exchanger module.

“Hot Gas” By-pass Valve

An innovative design, new to the industry utilizes a thermostatic bulb to control suction pressure. This ensures dryer performance regardless of load conditions and eliminates freeze-up at low loads. Calibrated at the factory, the valve never needs adjustment in the field, resulting in simpler maintenance.

Condensate Drain

All models are fitted with a Timed Electronic Drain. Interval and duration times are adjustable from the digital controller. Unique maintenance friendly drains require no tools for servicing. Zero Loss Drains are available as an option.

AMD (Aluminum Modular Design) Series, 10-100 SCFM

Performance

AMD dryers achieve excellent performance even in installations with high ambient and high inlet temperatures. The highly efficient and ultra compact heat exchanger is able to operate effectively in ambient temperatures up to 115°F and inlet temperatures of 130°F with minimal pressure drop.

Economical

AMD dryers are sized to match standard compressor outputs. E.g. a 10 HP (7.5kW) air compressor with a theoretical output of 50 scfm at 100 psig matches the AMD 50 rated at 50 scfm. It is therefore unnecessary to select a larger model: air compressor-dryer combination is tested and certified by FRIULAIR, within the operating limits as shown per the technical specifications section.

Operation

Operation of the AMD dryer is monitored by the DMC15 electronic controller which indicates the DewPoint temperature digitally, controls the condensate drain valve via a timer and the condenser fan via a probe. The fan control on small dryers is not normally found on competitor’s dryers. The fan control allows the dryers to operate at a much lower ambient without risk of freeze-ups. A unique constant pressure hot gas by-pass valve allows the evaporator to be set at 34°F and not freeze regardless of the flow. Calibrated at the factory, the valve never needs adjustment in the field, resulting in simpler maintenance. The ALU-DRY aluminium Modules wet surfaces have a vertical flow ensuring the condensed water from the compressed air goes to the automatic drain by gravity regardless of the flow.

Ecology

All materials used in the construction of AMD dryers are easily recycled. Only environmentally friendly refrigerants are used.

AHT High Inlet Temperature Series, 20-350 SCFM

Clean, dry compressed air is as vitally important to a small manufacturing company as it is to the largest of production facilities. For these smaller critical applications, BelAir has designed the AHT Series of high inlet air temperature refrigerated dryers (up to 210°F). These units eliminate the need for a separate aftercooler, moisture separator, and particulate filter. They are ideal for body shops, paint booths or wherever a high inlet air temperature dryer is required.

The AHT Series has the following standard equipment:

The filter also separates and drains the water condensed by the AHT air-cooled aftercooler.

Interval and duration times are adjustable from the DMC14 Controller. Unique maintenance friendly drains require no tools for servicing. Zero Loss Drains are available as an option.
